Beethoven’s Ode to Joy

Beethoven’s great masterpiece, the Symphony No. 9, rings through the Cathedral Basilica as the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia joins forces with Symphony in C. This premiere program of the 2017-18 season brings two storied organizations into the glow of the Cathedral Basilica and lends the ‘Cathedral sound’ to Beethoven’s themes of unity and brotherhood and the famous choral strains of the Ode to Joy.

Performed by large chorus, full symphony orchestra, and soloists from the Academy of Vocal Arts, Beethoven’s Ode to Joy will be a concert experience to remember.
